The Miller Family, including special education aide Amy Miller, visited the Duncan Middle School today to visit with students about the history of the chuck wagon.
Throughout the morning, classes were taken outside to look at the chuck wagon and to hear the history of the outdoor kitchen. Every student and teacher who visited were also provided with a sample of cobbler (apple, peach or cherry).
Megan Monteith took her seventh-grade career class outside to see what the chuck wagon looked like. Monteith said the students got to see what the drivers used to use the chuck wagon for and how it was set up the chuck wagon.
Amy Miller, who works at Duncan Middle School, said her parents got to show off their chuck wagon and were having fun talking to the students.
“It’s more of a hobby for my parents who are retired,” Miller said. “It’s fun to see how the kids are actually interested in it.”
