It’s that time of year again: Spirit Week at DMS. School spirit has once again become an important aspect at the educational institution.
One way school spirit can be generated is through organizing theme days to enhance a student’s overall academic experience. This week, Monday was College/Frat Day, today is Twin Day, Wednesday is Hawaiian day, Thursday is Disney day, and Friday is Camo Day.
Today is Twin Day, which is intended to encourage a sense of community and fun with matching outfits. And some students took the matching outfit idea beyond the wearing the same shirts.
Students were seen dressed in various theme outfits, from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in green tutus to blue M&Ms to various other characters. Even teachers got into the theme day. PE teacher Mary Leyrer and resource teacher Mandy Robbins both wore matching red shorts and gray T-shirts.
