Monday’s fire drill and Tuesday’s bus evacuation resulted in quicker times than those recorded in recent years.
DMS Assistant Principal Rodney Strutton said, “There was a lot of cooperation between students and teachers. DMS made its fastest times on the bus evacuation and fire drill.”
The students broke the fastest bus evacuation with a time of 51 minutes. The fire drill took less than 2 minutes.
“As long as we prepare the students with the drills, I feel the school is a safer place,” Strutton said.
The school is required to do a variety of drills throughout the school year, including fire drills, bus evacuations, tornado drills, lock down drills and intruder drills.
