On March 4th, 2024, Duncan High School held a pep rally to reveal who the halo recipients are and how much money was raised by halo events and fundraisers. During HALO week, the students raised $36,750. Almost double the amount that was raised last year. During the last school year, they raised $18,098.
The main recipient of HALO Week was Dylan Harty. Harty was involved in an automobile accident where he had to have his leg amputated.
Avery Milburn, an 8th-grade student, said “Raising money for Halo week is good because it helps the community in many ways.”
Kennedi Riddles, another 8th-grade student, “ Good events to help raise money for Halo week next year are a car wash and a bake sale.”
Lakyn Reid, another 8th-grade student, talked about HALO next year. Reid said, “Next year for events they should hold a carnival, and a food drive.”
by the student council advertising places to go eat to support HALO. During Halo Week, the student council had a list of events and a certain places the students could go to support HALO.
Some more events they hold are dress-up days for the students in Duncan High School. They also hold a coin drive in the Middle School to raise money for Halo Week. They put it in the Middle School as well so the students can also be involved.
