Duncan Middle School is holding its 4th Incentive party this school year. The DMS principals said this incentive party will be much bigger than previous parties. 8th-grade student Brooke Boon said, “ I think this coming incentive party is going to be better than the last because it is supposed to be bigger and better.”
At DMS the principals have held 3 incentive parties with one more coming up. Four incentive parties are the most they have held in the past couple of years of doing it. An 8th-grade student, Josh Whipple said, “ I honestly think the incentive parties are kinda lame, although I have only been to one, I think it is cool they are doing more.”
The incentives occur every nine weeks and the principals said this incentive will be much more difficult than the last. One of the changes to the incentive is you are only allowed three and a half days absence. Whipple said, “To improve the incentive parties, they should have a huge birthday cake and a Drake performance.” Boon said, “ I want them to have lots of snacks at the parties.”
She also said, “ My favorite incentive party we had was last year because we got to go outside and have snowcones.” At the most recent incentive party, students went outside and played games including soccer, Jenga, Connect Four, volleyball, and much more. Whipple said, “ At this incentive party coming up I think the principals will take us out to do something fun.”
At the incentive party, students got to choose from many different kinds of chips and sodas to eat and drink while outside. The head principal Christy Glasscock was outside with students to take pictures of some students having fun. Boon said, “ I like that the school has given us students so many opportunities to have fun while at school and make our years at DMS better.”
