To some, Halloween is considered the “best” holiday and is often considered the scariest. Many people dress up, have Halloween parties and hand out candy.
It originated 2,000 years ago from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain. Although celebrated, it is not a National holiday.
Kinsley Brown said her favorite parts about Halloween are candy and seeing friends.
Brown, a seventh-grade at DMS, said she celebrates Halloween by decorating and handling out candy. This year, she’s dressing up as a police officer, and her friends will be prisoners.
Jayla Solie’s favorite part of Halloween in also the candy because almost everyone loves candy.
Solie, another seventh-grader, plans to dress up for Halloween with her costume being either an inflatable or a construction worker. She said she usually goes to Lawton for Halloween. Although she couldn’t recall the name of the place in Lawton, she said she goes there with her family most of the time.
Evelyn Cruz and Zella Marks, also seventh-graders, will be dressing up as the Men in Black. They intend to go to the Timber Creek edition to do their trick-or-treating.
