Megan Montieth and Derrick Miller were selected as the September teachers of the month.
Duncan Middle School honored its students and teachers of the month for September in a special assembly Thursday morning.
In all, four students from each grade, two teachers and a support staff member were selected for the recognition. Those receiving awards included:
- Sixth grade: Jackson Butler, Morgan Elliot, Melanie Healey and Meg Walker
- Seventh grade: Madison Thomas, Emily Chambers, Jalen Powell and Russell Frye
- Eighth grade: Gracelynn Nickell, Collin Stringer, Alana Lee and Jesus Ramirez
- Teachers: Seventh grade science teacher Megan Montieth and journalism teacher Derrick Miller
- Support staff member: Dan Trinh
- Theme Award (“We Rise by Lifting Others”): Addison Siess, Gracie Reid and Sadi Blalock, all of whom helped to pay the Chromebook theme for another student
