Last month, Duncan Middle School’s National Honor Society held a blood drive where people were able to donate their blood to help people in need.
I think donating blood is a good think because it can keep someone alive.
You have to be 16 years old to donate blood with parental permission and 17 years old or older without parental permission. Some people have a reason for donating blood, while others just want to donate blood to be kind or to help someone who needs it. When I’m older, I am going to donate blood because, if I do, I would help a person or people survive.
I was one of the NJHS members who helped with the blood drive. When the blood van came to DMS, I was so excited to help sign people us so they could donate.
Unfortunately, my group didn’t get to help many people. Many people live longer because they get the blood they need. I am praying for those who need blood will get what they need.
The people working in the van were very nice to us.
I hope you all will donate your blood when you are older. You will be doing a good thing for someone, just by donating.
