Duncan Public Schools will be virtual Tuesday and Wednesday, as threats of inclement weather continues to increase for the Duncan area.

The announcement of virtual days was made through email, mobile notifications and social media updates.
According to the announcement, “Due to the anticipated inclement weather, Duncan Public Schools will be going to virtual learning on Tuesday, February 18th, and Wednesday, February 19th. Any assignment or course work will be administered directly from each student’s teacher. Stay safe and warm Duncan.”
Duncan is not the only school district going virtual the next couple of days. Lawton Public Schools has also announced it will be virtual Tuesday and Wednesday. Empire School will be virtual Tuesday, after having been virtual two days last week.
These will not be the first days Duncan has faced inclement weather this semester. Duncan Public Schools had two snow days Jan. 9 and 10, the week Duncan students returned from Christmas Break.
The U.S Weather Service in Norman issued warnings today in preparation of Tuesday’s winter weather. The Weather Service expects winter precipitation and cold temperatures.
The Weather Service took to its Facebook page to share information about the weather, which will hit much of Oklahoma.

Wind chills will be between -10 and -25 F during Wed/Thurs morning,” according to one of the Weather Service’s Facebook posts.
