Seventh-grader Tag Ensey was elected as National Junior Honor Society president Oct. 4.
Ensey was up against Kennedy Hammack for the position.
The president’s duty to fulfill is to listen to the school, run by changes that are needed to the principal and keep everything in order.
“Many people judge the president for not succeeding perfection,” said newly elected NJHS secretary Jaycie Meadows.
Meadows feels it is imperative for the president to have human rights.
“I’d like to strive to perfection, but I don’t feel like I have to be perfect.”says Ensey, NJHS president.
He said all of the candidates were nervous about the election, and he was surprised on his race’s outcome.
“It (the election) was pretty nerve wracking,” said Ensey. “I didn’t think I was going to win.”
