Red Ribbon Week is intended to encourage students not to do drugs. The week starts today and will run through Oct. 31.
As part of the focus on drug-free awareness, students will have a choice to dress up. The dress-up days include Twin Day today, college gear on Thursday, school spirit on Friday, pajamas on Monday and Halloween shirts on Tuesday. No costumes will be allowed to be worn on Halloween.
Kaitlyn Ramirez said she was excited about Red Ribbon Week, but hoped to learn more about it.
“I mean, I don’t really know what is like,” Ramirez said.
She said her favorite day idea so far is Twin Day, and she intends to participate.
“I feel like everyone is going to do Twin Day, just because it is fun,” Ramirez said.
She doesn’t know what other days she is going take part in but.
In addition to dress-up days, first hour classes will also be decorating doors for Red Ribbon Week. Doors will be judged and a winner selected Tuesday.
