Duncan Middle School sixth-graders work on a project in their STEM class.
Tammy Bennett’s seventh and eighth hour STEM classes made projects out of non-renewable resources. They presented them to each other and a few other teachers today.
Sixth-grader Ainsley McEntire said “We are using non-renewable resources because some of our fossil fuels will only last us a limited time.”
The focus of McEntire’s team, which also included sixth-grader Landon Halthaus, was to make a working wind turbine.
Patience Eichler, sixth-grade student, said, “We made a biomass project. When the food rots in the water balloon, the balloon fills with biofuel.”
