Did you know teachers are getting new carpet?
The school started replacing carpet in classrooms last semester and will continue the process this semester.
In Derrick Miller’s journalism classroom, there was old carpet, which was switched to the new gray carpeting. Miller moved to a temporary classroom at the end of November and moved back to his classroom less than a week later.
“Moving classrooms is kind of difficult because of I have so much equipment and furniture that had to be moved. I’m glad I got new carpet because the other one had waves and was tripping hazard,” Miller said.
The temporary classroom, Room 296, is next door to Miller’s classroom. Students helped move furniture and other items.
Angela Ibarra, a sixth grade student, said, “Yes I’m happy that we got new carpet because now I know there isn’t any mold growing on or in the carpet.”
Several classrooms are getting new carpeting with Erica Stuck, seventh-grade math teacher, is the latest teacher to change classrooms to allow for new carpeting to be laid.
