More than 17 percent of students at Duncan Middle School are out sick today.
Although not all are out with the flu, by the start of sixth hour, 122 kids either stayed home sick or went home. By the end of Tuesday, 131 students and 10 staff members were home sick.
“I hope people get better, and we are trying to keep the school sanitized,” Assistant Principal Lisha Elroy said.
Elroy said the administrators don’t know the percentage of absences needed to close the school, but other area schools have closed because of absences caused by the flu.
