Duncan Middle School golf teams had their first tournament on Tuesday at the Duncan Golf and Tennis Club.
When they teed off that morning it was about 32= degrees. Both boys and girls teams got second place in the tournament. For the girls team, seventh-grader Jaiden Gregston got fourth place and eighth-grader Gracelynn Nickell got third. For the boys team, seventh-grader Baylor Bostick got fourth place and seventh-grader Jace Black got first.
Black had a tying score of 78 with a boy from Ada. A playoff was held where Black won on the 3rd hole.
The boys team has a tournament on today at Lake Hefner in Oklahoma City. The girls next tournament will be on March 29 at Fort Cobb.
Hayden Davis of the varsity girls golf team said she likes golf because “It requires no running.”
Maelyn Marks also of the varsity girls golf team says the reason she likes golf is because “It brings out my joy and happiness and it a really fun sport.”
