The nervousness can be felt in the air, as DMS beings its new year. Many faces can be seen in the hallway as the well as old ones. The students travel through the hallways, scavenging for their classes as they race against the bells. Some wave to familiar classmates, while other still search for classes.
“I thoroughly enjoyed the teachers; they were so positive and upbeat,” Aidan Farrow said.
Farrow is an eighth-grader at Duncan middle School. He said the teachers helped to make the first day of school a smooth transition from Summer Break.
“I really appreciate how welcoming they were,” Farrow said.
The start of this school year has included some faculty changes. These teachers include Shanika Scott, Lacey Smith, Jill Bates, AnnaMaree Combs, Kelly Jones, Autumn Gordon, Rosie Castle, Chuck Brown, Tammy Sparks, Renea Lawler and Jordan Mayes.
