Duncan Middle School students learned more about God on Wednesday when Kathy Wilson guest spoke during FCA in the DMS wrestling room.
Wilson told students about the Cross Challenge, which is a relay challenge that each team member in their group can participate in and do a different contest. Wilson did the Cross Challenge a few years back.
“God didn’t want us to stay down; he wanted us to get back up,” Wilson said.
She said this is about having perseverance event when life is at its hardest point of the journey.
Mandy Robbins, who is one of the teachers helping with FCA this year, said FCA is important to students at DMS.
“It gives the students a chance to learn more about Christ, enjoy time with friends and enjoy free pizza,” Robbins said.
The organization came to DMS to give student athletes and other students a chance to grow in their Christian walk and to encourage others, Robbins said.
Sixth-grader Hayden Irby said he enjoyed participating in FCA.
“It was a great experience, and I am becoming closer with Christ the more I come,” Irby said.
He said he liked learning about the Cross Challenge and would like to participate in it. He also said he plans to return to FCA in the future.
“I thought it was fun,” Irby said.
