Basketball Season is coming to Duncan Middle School, with practice starting for the Lady Demons
Seventh-grader Katelin Ramirez and eighth-grader JJ Gregston talked about their experiences with the first practices.
“It was OK, and went better than I thought,” Ramirez said. “We did a lot of drills.”
Gregston had similar thoughts.
“It was good, and I made a lot of shots,” Gregston said.
Gregston said she was excited and nervous about the season. Ramirez said she felt confident in herself and the season.
“I don’t get nervous; I am a beast,” Ramirez said.
With the ending of softball, volleyball and cross country, girls basketball is helping to usher in the winter sports. Gregston and Ramirez said they’re ready to get started and think they’ll support their teammates well.
Both said they will try their best for every game.
“I always do,” Gregston said.
Seventh and eighth-grade girls will play their first basketball games Nov. 13 at Lawton Mac. The boys’ teams have not started practicing yet, but will play Lawton Mac on Nov. 13 at home.
