National Library Week is a movement to get people to read.
The week started April 9 and will last through Saturday. The theme this year is “Libraries Transform,” and each day has its own label. For example, Tuesday was National Library Worker Day.
National Library Week started in the 1950s because people were in to radios, TV and musical instruments.
Ava Curry is an aid for the library.
Curry’s favorite book is “Dirt Diary,” but she did not know it was National Library Week.
She said “I will help more now that I know this.”
Like Curry, Chloe Blevins is a library aid. Blevins’ favorite book is “Who Needs Girls.”
She said, “National Library Week is a good for people who like book and for librarians to get to know each other.”
Blevins likes National Library Week because she likes books.
