Fall break starts today.
Breaks, such as Fall Break, not only alleviate the stress put onto students, but also improve their academic performance. Basically, breaks help them rest their minds and refocus them for the next stretch of school days.
“Students get stressed out because of long school days,” Sandy Ferguson, DMS instructional coach, said. “Breaks help them to take their minds off of school.”
Over fall break, relaxation will be important to students. Students can use the time to go outside, sleep, do whatever they find relaxing. Taking their minds off of school will help them to feel more refreshed.
Fall Break runs through Oct. 23 with students and teachers reporting back to school Oct. 24.
