Wednesday was Pajama Day at Duncan Middle School, and many students wore their pjs to help raise money for National Junior Honor S
ociety.
Pajama Day is the first dress-up day for Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week focuses on a drug-free stance for students. Among those who dressed up were sixth-grade students Maci Blumer and Layci Blalock.
Both said they dressed up in their pajamas because it gave them an opportunity to be themselves. They were also happy they could help raise money for NJHS, which uses Red Ribbon Week dress-up days as one of its fundraisers. Students pay $1 for each dress-up day or $5 to dress-up all sixth days.
Red Ribbon Week continues today with Denim Day, where students can wear their their denim clothing. Other dress-up days include Friday’s Crazy Hair Day, Monday’s Professional/Career Day, Tuesday’s Star Wars Character Day and Wednesday’s Favorite Movie Character Day.
