Today is the start of parent/teacher conferences, and many teachers and students can see a positive impact those conferences can have.
Conferences are set for 3:30 to 7 p.m. today and Tuesday at Duncan Middle School.
Jamar Lockhart, seventh-grade math, said parent/teacher conferences are important because it let’s the parents be able to talk to their child’s teachers.
Eighth-grader Thomas Brown had similar thoughts.
“It is good because parents can know what their kids are doing in school,” Brown said.
Both Brown and Lockhart said there are enough conferences during the year to help give parents an overview of how their children are doing in school.
Lockhart said he enjoys the conferences because he can tell the parents everything that their students need to work on. Brown said he does not like the parent/teacher conferences because his mom doesn’t get home until dark.
