Duncan Middle School students were among the young artists that showed off their talents.
Several DMS students placed in the Youth Art Month exhibit at the Chisholm Trail Arts Council’s Art Gallery. These students were recognized during a reception Friday night.
Among those who placed were Emmy Marks, 2nd place; Cole Young, 4th place; and Amaia Page, honorable mention. Marks and Young submitted their works through the Cedar Cove Studio Arts.
Both of these sixth graders received ribbons for their art and their places. Both of these students got inspired by art very young in elementary school by their art teachers.
“The art I submitted meant a lot to me and placing showed how far I have come,” Young said.
Other DMS students who had work displayed in the exhibit include Dannial Crispin, Emilio Harris, Alina Magana, Mekailyn Boice, Emily Smith, Megan Bumpas, Jasmine Stevens, Nathaniel Scallan, Logan Hopkins, Reagan Hicks, Grace Dean, Audrey Berend, Makena Scott, Drew Cook, Sydney Jackson, Sooner Turner, Isaac Vallecillo and Diana Garcia.
Young and Marks said they will continue their passion and work harder at art for their future art submissions.
The CTAC Youth Art Month display will be up throughout the month of March.
