It’s the last day of school, and students and teachers are happy for Summer Break.
The school year started Aug. 15, and came to an end today. Students and teachers have mixed emotions over the end date. Some may be happy, while others may be sad. For others, the ending is bittersweet.
“I feel awesome; it was a really good year,” eighth-grader Gena Parker said.
Parker said she is sad that the year went so fast. She said it’s always a good environment.
Zachary Collins, another eighth-grader, said the year did go quickly. Collins said the end of middle school will give students opportunities to meet more people and to have more chances to do different things.
During the last day of school, students participated in the annual dodgeball tournament finale. Eighth-grade students had their cookout and were given the opportunity to go outside.
The first day of the 2019-20 school year for Duncan Public Schools will be Aug. 14.
