As the last of the semester is wrapping up on Friday, December 20th, that also means another thing is coming up: Report cards.
In a recent interview with head principal Rodney Strutton, we got a little more information about how this last semester turned out.
“I’m a little disappointed because it seems we have so many students that have missing work not turned in. Students need to realize the only grade that can’t be overcome is a zero. Everything else is something we can work with.” Strutton said. “The number for 6th and 7th grade on the eligibility list aren’t too bad, but the numbers for 8th grade are much higher than I would like.” He also said “Obviously, I would love to have zero students on the list.”
As far as report cards go, he said, “Teachers are require
d to have grades turned in by January 6th. Report cards will not be mailed out, but can be printed upon request. Grades should be finalized by the end of the first week of school in January.”
“ Next semester I hope to see a lot of growth in preparation for the state tests. If a student is needing help, they need to come see me, I will do everything I can to find a way to help them be successful.”
