Duncan Little Theatre is working on its latest musical production.
This year, the non-profit organization is performing “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.” The show will be at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 28 and 29, and March 6 and 7, and at 2 p.m. March 1 at the Simmons Center.
The play is based off the movie musical of the same name. The romantic-comedy style production is a family-oriented show. It is set during the late 1800s, during the time of settling Oregon and other western territories.
Several Duncan Middle School people are involved with the show. Courtney Miles, a music teacher at DMS, will be among the performers. Miles is playing Milly.
Teresa Blalock, a sixth-grade English teacher, is one of the producers for the show. Additionally, there are several students who have ensemble roles in the production.
“It’s a lot of fun and a lot of work,” Blalock said.
Blalock said her job as producer is about helping organize the actors and work to meet the needs of the show’s director. She said the prodcution is going “wonderful.”
Tickets for the show are $20 for adults and $15 for students. They are available online at duncanlittletheatre.com prior to the show or at the box office the day of the show.

I’m actually playing a role in this musical, as well as Ainsley McIntyre and Sadi Blalock, as silly girls. We have all been working very hard on this show and we would love to have as many people come out and see it!
