Spring Break plans were interrupted for many Duncan Middle School students and teachers because of the ongoing pandemic.
Spring Break took place March 13 to 22. But with the Coronavirus, which was spreading throughout the united states, many areas have undergone a large quarantine that prohibits people going outside or traveling to non-essential places without a proper reason.
Currently in Duncan, school buildings have shut down, as things have moved to distance learning. Spring Break extended for two additional weeks to give teachers and administrators time to plan for this change in learning.
Raven Hunter, a seventh-grade student, said that her Spring Break went well, but she never expected the quarantine to expand out this much. She just wanted to see her friends over the break.
Henry Spoering, an eighth-grader, was originally planning to go to Frisco, Texas, to go to the zoo, but because of COVID-19 he was unable to so. He ended up going to his family farm.
Spring Break may be over, but the impact of the pandemic continues.
