The Duncan Middle School varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams lost to Lawton Tomlinson Tuesday, despite both teams making it to the third set of their respective games.
The varsity team faced off against Tomlinson in their game at Duncan Middle School. The first set was back and forth, but the Tomlinson Lady Wolves struck first, winning the first set and leaving the score 1-0.
The Lady Demons came back after the loss by winning the battle in the second set, making scoring a tie.
In the third set, the Duncan varsity team was up by 2. However, the Lady Wolves hit two in a row, tying the score. With the ball in Tomlinson’s hands, they controlled the game.
As the Lady Wolves only needed one more point, it came down to edge-of-your seat moves.
Duncan hit the ball over, and Tomlinson returned it. The Lady Wolves hit the ball, which Duncan managed to save. But that victory was tempoary.
Tomlinson went on to win the game, leaving Duncan with a devastating loss.
The DMS Junior Varsity girls also played Tomlinson.
The JV team lost its first set, but they won their second set, tying the score.
But the Lady Wolves won the third set, leaving the Lady Demons with a 1-2 loss.
