The first eighth-grade football game won’t be until later because tonight’s game got canceled because Lawton Tomlinson forfeited.
The Tomlinson team combined sixth, seventh and eighth grades to have enough players to face the Demons. Several of the Tomlinson players opted out of the game for unforeseen circumstances, resulting in the team not having enough players to participate in today’s game.
The DMS seventh-graders weren’t able to play because there weren’t enough players for them to compete against.
Damon Dillon, the eighth-grade team’s left tackle, said, he was looking forward to the game, but he realizes there will be more games in the furture.
“We now have more time to practice,” Dillon said.
The Duncan Middle School’s first football game will now be Sept. 8 against Durant. Seventh-grade will play at 5 p.m., and eighth-grade will play at 6:30 p.m.
