Duncan Middle School students and staff members got dressed up this week as part of the spirit week celebration.
This spirit week was to bring attention to the first Duncan High School home football game. Throughout the week, different theme days helped suggest what kind of clothes DMS students and teachers would wear.
The overall theme for the week was “Sweet Week,” and all of the day themes were related to candy. Monday’s dress-up day was “Rolo out of Bed,” which meant wear pjs to school. Tuesday’s dress-up day was “Smarties,” which meant wear your nerdy clothes. Wednesday’s dress-up day was “Milk Way,” which meant wear galaxy. Thursday’s dress-up day was “Pop Rocks,” which meant dress up like a pop star. Today’s dress-up day was “Spirit Day,” which meant wear Demon red.
Art teacher Shelly Farrar said she enjoyed dressing up for spirit week.
“(It) helps to show school spirit, and I like Halloween,” Farrar said.
In addition to spirit week at DMS, the high school also had the same theme days.
