All schools have dress codes. What is going on with Duncan Middle school’s dress code?
Sitota Mullins, a sixth-grader at DMS, said, “The dress code is a little strict with the shorts.”
The dress code does not make Mullins feel less confident, she said.
“If my parents let me wear it it’s fine,” Mullins said. “The dress code is good in some ways but sometimes their overprotective on the hoodies if they’re over your shorts.”
Mullins has never got dress coded, and she doesn’t plan on it either.
Anavrin Sorensen, a 7th grade at the Duncan Middle School, said the dress code is strict on sport shorts and crop tops.
“The dress code has not made me feel less confident because I follow the dress code extent,” Sorensen said. “I will wear shorts and crop tops though.”
Sorensen said that she has been dress coded before; she got dress coded for her tight jean skirt.
“The dress code is good for some people because some people like to wear revealing clothes, but it’s also stupid because they won’t let me where my sports shorts.”
