The Duncan Middle School football teams played Tuesday against Durant.
And as the DMS eighth-grade team was stepping up against the Lions, bringing its score to 12-0. But the game got canceled because of the rain.
This isn’t the first time the eighth-grade team has encountered a hiccup in its season. Last week, the eighth-graders were set to go up against Lawton Tomlinson. But Tomlinson chose not to go forward with the game because of a lack of players, which was also the reason the DMS seventh-grade team was not going to play.
While the eighth-grade game ended with a victory, despite being rained out, the seventh-grade team wasn’t as successful. The seventh-grade score ended with a loss of 6-36.
The next game will be Sep.t 15 against Elgin. Seventh grade will play at 5 p.m., and eighth grade will play at 6:30 p.m.
