The eighth-grade football team destroyed the Durant eighth-grade team, but because of inclement weather, the game got canceled before DMS could be declared winner.
But it was the seventh-grade game that needs to attention.
The seventh-grade team played well in my opinion. Duncan played good, but Durant just played better.
In the first quarter, it was rough for the seventh-grade. The score was 6-0 at the end of the first. The second quarter was more rough than the first because Durant scored another touchdown, and Duncan was stuck at 6, making the score 6-14 after Durant made a 2-point conversion to help put them in the lead.
Duncan could not get any more points on the board, and Durant was running away with the game.
In my opinion, the refs would call anything in Durant’s favor. The refs were not calling anything for Duncan, but were giving everything to Durant.
At the end of the game, Duncan was at 6, and Durant had 36 points coming away with the win.
With this being the first game of the season, it ended up being Duncan’s first loss of the season, too.
Overall, the game was fun to watch event though we lost.
Luckily, the team has more time to practice and get ready for their next game against El Reno at home.
