The Duncan Lady Demons varsity volleyball team lost to Lawton Ike during Tuesday’s game. The game only went two sets with the Eagles winning both.
“I think we performed well, but we still have lots of mistakes,” Emme Marks, Duncan volleyball player, said. “Lawton Ike played well. They didn’t have many mistakes. They are a good team.”
Marks said the biggest problem the team faced during the game was passing.
“We are a good team,” she said. “We just have lots of mistakes.”
The junior varsity team also lost to Lawton Ike. But unlike the varsity team, the junior varsity went into a third set.
Lawton Ike won the first set, but Duncan struck back, winning the second set. The third set was close, but Ike won the third set, sending Duncan home with a loss.
This loss reflects similar losses last month, when the DMS teams took on Lawton Ike for the first time this season.
The Duncan Middle School volleyball teams will play again Sept. 17 against Lawton Tomlinson in the DMS gym. Junior varsity will play at 4 p.m., and varsity’s game follows.
