The Supper Club is here to help students in need who have a rough time getting food at home, and they try to provide kids with a snack or food to cook with on the weekend.
Counselor BubBa Clark leads the supper club and has for three years. The Duncan Middle Supper Club was sponsored by a church this year and can now give the kids frozen food.
It is ran because of generous donations from people all across Duncan and the Oklahoma Food Bank. Last week, the Supper Club started for the first time this year. There were at least 40 kids who took home food; last year there was an average of at least 80 kids.
“It has grown every year,” Clark said. “This club does help kids, and if it didn’t help, the students they wouldn’t come back every week, especially with people being out of work because of COVID-19. I think they do need the Supper Club.
“As the year progresses more students come week after week.”
