On Wednesday, students will get together in the morning around the American flag for See You at the Pole.
The event give students an opportunity to come together for prayer and worship. At Duncan Middle School, this event will start about 7:15 a.m. and will go until about 7:40 a.m. with some people coming together to sing and pray around the flag pole.
Some of the eighth-grade students will be selected to lead prayer at the event. Mandy Robbins, who sponsors FCA at DMS, is in charge of the See You at the Pole event at the middle school.
In the evening, all of the churches will come together for the Saw You at the Pole rally, which is held at various places across the community.
“I was nervous about saying a prayer in front of everybody, but I was also excited about the students getting together and uniting,” eighth-grader Luke McFatridge said about the See You at the Pole event.
See at the Pole is a national day of prayer that started in 1990. It has since spread to various other countries around the world.
