The seventh-grade football against Lawton MacArthur went well.
We had lots of mistakes, but we plan to learn from our mistakes, and we will do better against Altus.
We did good by scoring first, and we held them to a stop. But we couldn’t do it all game. We are better than MacArthur; we just didn’t do the right things at the right time.
We kept letting them outside of us, instead of forcing them inside, which was one of our biggest weaknesses in that game. We’ve just got to work more of forcing them inside.
Another one of our weaknesses was penalties. We had 19 penalties that game, which is one of the reasons we lost.
We couldn’t stop them on fourth down and long. They even converted a fourth and 23. If we could stop all these tings, we could have had a better game.
We could be more like the eighth-grade team. They had a great game. They did not really have any mistakes and just a few penalties here and there that shouldn’t have been called.
They had an outstanding game.
They won because they did not have the mistakes we did.
If the seventh-grade can learn to play like that, we could be unstoppable.
