The upcoming week is Homecoming Week for Duncan High School, and Duncan Middle School students will get a chance to dress up.
Each day next week will have a theme. The overall theme for the week is “Bring Home the Gold,” which will reflect the Olympics.
Monday will be an open ceremony or formal day. Tuesday is U.S.A. or red, white and blue. Wednesday is No. 1 athlete or dress like your favorite athlete. Thursday is Training for the Gold or dress like your favorite coach Friday is class colors or rings of the Olympics.
DMS Principal Rodney Strutton said, “It is a time for alumni to come home and watch the game.”
Homecoming week helps build up school spirit and school pride. It is time for students to dress up and show their pride, Strutton said..
Although Strutton said he will probably not be dressing up for Homecoming Week, he likes Homecoming Week because there are a lot of fun activities. He said there are also more people at the football game.
Eighth-grade student Avery Philpot said she will probably dress up for Homecoming Week because it helps bring school spirit.
