The first presidential debate with moderator Chris Wallace telling the audience the candidates would not be shaking hands and remanding the audience to stay completely silent.
President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden were asked about various topics, as presented by Wallace.
Topic 1 focused on the supreme court.
Trump elected Amy Coney Barrett. He said he thinks she is honorable and will do a wonderful job. Biden responded by saying the appointment should wait until the outcome of the presidential election.
Biden also said she seems like a fine person, but she has written before going into the bench that she doesn’t think it’s constitutional.
When it came to health care, Trump said he is trying to take out the health care system put in place by former President Barrack Obama. Trump also said Obama and Biden were responsible for a large number of military deaths because of improper health care.
Biden countered that Trump knew about the COVID-19 virus in February, but he didn’t have a plan and didn’t release information about the severity of the virus until later.
He said the lack of a plan has caused further spread of the virus and more deaths around the United States.
Biden also talked about Trump’s tax plan, which he described as being horrible. He said decreasing the taxes could put America in a bad situation.
