Lately, the girls who are planning to play basketball have been filling out their forms and been practicing for the upcoming season.
They will need to fill out their forms in order to play. Practice began Oct. 5. The team is excited for the new year.
“I feel we have a good team this year,” eighth-grader Noelle McRoy said.
This will be her second year playing. She also said she is excited for the season to come.
The coach of the team is Shantika Scott, who also teaches sixth-grade science at DMS.
The team’s season will last until February, with many games and tournaments to attend. The older eighth-graders will have to teach the younger seventh-graders what to do and how to play well.
Some of the players might be new to the sport, while others have years of experience so they can be the best they can be. Nonetheless, this will be an exciting season for the fans and players.
