Just before students left for Fall Break, Duncan Middle School’s eighth-grade football team faced its first loss.
On Oct. 13, the eighth-grade team played Lawton Ike, but they loss the game with a score of 14-20 with Lawton . They lost the game. They took their first loss of the season. The final score of the game was 14-20, Ike over Duncan.
“After the game I was so mad, that was the only emotion I felt,” eighth-grade player Preston Giles said. “Our worst part of the game was when we are on offense; our defense plays great by getting a stop, but we can’t capitalize on offense.
“Losing isn’t the best feeling in the world. It stinks but we gotta keep trying and playing. One thing we need to work on is going 100 percent at the beginning of the game.”
The first loss carried over into the following game, when the Demons fell to the Lawton Central Cougars. The season ended Wednesday, and the eighth-grade was 6-2. The seventh-grade season ended with a record of 5-3.
