One of the things I like to do in my free time is crochet.
I first learned how to crochet from my fifth-grade reading teacher, as she taught everyone in all of her classes. She taught the students how to crochet because she believed it was an easy way to relieve stress off of the kids and also give them something to do in class when they had finished their work.
Even now, almost three years after I first started, I still love to crochet.
When I have extra time to myself and don’t have work to do, I love to crochet things. My favorite things to crochet include clothes for my baby sister and amigurumis. Amigurumi is the term referring to crocheted creatures, animals or humans that were stuffed and turned into toy-like dolls.
The things I have made before vary in different ways. I have made clothing for my baby sister, including a pink dress that she now can’t fit in, and a white sweater that she can still fit and wears occasionally. I have made an amigurumi bunny head and then attached it to a little blanket to make a lovey for her as well.
My current project is an amigurumi of a blue person from the game “Among Us.”
I encourage everyone to learn how to crochet at some point in their lives.
Some people may consider crocheting a “girly” hobby or a “granny’ hobby, but in reality it is just something fun to pass the time for both girls and boys of all ages. Some people even turn crocheting into their careers, selling the things they made.
You can learn to crochet by getting someone experienced to teach you or by finding fun videos on websites such as YouTube to help you get started.
