On Saturday, lots of students took to the streets to get lots of candy from neighbors and friends.
Even though the majority of those who went trick-or-treating were little kids, there were still some DMS and DHS students dressing up and going door to door to get lots of candy. Some areas were extremely packed.
Some churches and other places were doing a drive through trunk-or-treats.
Viridian Coffee and Faith Church came together to put together a Fall Fest and drive through trick-or-treat. New Hope Baptist Church West also decorated the parking lot to look like the game Candyland, with several students being Nerds or M&Ms and handing out candy as people drove through. Connection Church did a mini drive through trick-or-treat in their parking lot as well.
Some people, who were handing out candy, just left a bowl of candy on the front steps and let kids take one, while others put candy in bags to hand out to kids for safety precautions.
There were several DMS students who were excited about Halloween.
Sloan Johnson, Braiden Stevens and Jaylee Phillips all went to Halloween parties to celebrate the holiday. Karley Alvarez went to a drive through trick-or-treat.
All of the students dressed up.
Johnson dressed as Dax Prescott. Phillips was a football player. Stevens was a middle school girl. Alvarez was a “Ring” character.
And most of the students got lots of candy.
“I didn’t get any candy, but I ate my sister’s,” Stevens said.
