Caleb Couch is confident he will make the Duncan Middle School basketball team.
Couch, a seventh-grader, is one of many boys trying out for seventh- and eighth-grade teams. Tryouts started Thursday.
Seventh-grade boys can tryout for basketball from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, and from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at DMS.
Tryouts for eighth-grade boys will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, and from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at DMS.
Couch said his favorite basketball drill is the rebounding drill, which is when the team gets in two lines and Coach Ron Booth, who leads the seventh-grade basketball team, tosses the ball and two people run out on the court to try to get the ball.
Couch said he likes that Booth treats everyone the same.
Dalton Dismuke is the coach for the eighth-grade boys basketball team.
