On Nov. 21, the Oklahoma Sooners played the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the annual Bedlam rivalry football game. At the end of the Sooners walked away with the win.
“In the first quarter, we were lights out; I thought OU was going to win 100 to 0,” Cathy Barker, DMS teacher and Sooner fan, said. “I thought OSU’s defense was a little better, but it was a good game.”
The Sooners won the game 41 to 13, against the Stillwater team.
The game took place during Duncan Middle School’s Thanksgiving Break, which went from Nov. 21 to 29.
In the first quarter, the Sooners started to run away with the game, especially after Spencer Rattler, the OU quarterback, ran in a touchdown, breaking an OSU defender.
Oklahoma scored 21 points in the first quarter, 6 in the second, 0 in the third and 14 in the fourth quarter. Oklahoma State scored 7 points in the first quarter, 6 in the second, 0 in the third and 0 in the fourth.
Eighth-grade student Luke McFatridge, who is an OSU fan, said he was disappointed in the outcome.
“Our defense didn’t play the best, but Oklahoma is a good team to lose to,” McFatridge said.
