“The Secret Life of Girls” is a play focused on girls who make resolutions to be kind and most importantly be OK with who they are.
On Tuesday, DMS girls attended the performance at the Simmons Center. The play involves some students from Duncan Middle School, area schools and home school.
“I think that it is a great experience for girls who are going through tough times,” Hope Swor, a DMS student and actor in the play, said.
Swor’s main role is a girl named Kayla. Swor said she isn’t afraid to be on stage; it just depends on if she knows what she’s talking about.
Another DMS student in the play is Emily Garrett.
“I think it’s a great way for girls to express who they are,” Garrett said.
Garrett is passionate about theater and loves being on stage with all her friends. She loves meeting new people and making memories with them. Her character’s name is Annamarie.
After auditions, the girls figured out what parts they got and started practicing right away. They said they were excited to perform and hope it might teach girls to treat themselves better.
