Duncan Middle School is having Digital Citizenship Week beginning today through Friday in hopes of making the world and DMS a better place.
Each day of the week will feature a dress up day and challenge.
“It’s a great opportunity for kids,” NJHS member Nathan Johnson said.
The week includes:
- Monday: :Keep It Real Day,” No makeup or hair gel (Site/Personal Safety); Challenge: Send someone a smile or positive comment on social media.
- Tuesday: “Anti Cyber Bullying,” Wear boots to stomp out bullying; Challenge: Send someone a quote that is encouraging.
- Wednesday: The Price of Texting, “Wear Green Day”; Challenge: Text someone a positive “GIF” that will make someone smile.
- Thursday: “Dress as a Professional Day”; Assembly each grade (Second grade: sixth grade, third hour: eighth grade; fourth hour, seventh grade) (student slide show, skits and police detective speaking); Challenge: Tweet a picture/quote/something you learned from the assembly.
- Friday: Decade Day (Throwback to No Technology Day), Dress in decade day; Challenge: Live one day without your technology.
Students should use the hashtag #DMScyberweek2K17 when posting challenges.
