Next week, the Duncan Middle School will have Christmas dress-up days.
The idea is to raise Christmas spirit and to enhance school pride.
Attendance clerk Gigi Villarreal said she enjoys dressing up during the different spirit weeks at DMS. She said she likes getting into the Christmas spirit and typically dresses up every year.
“I am debating on whether or not I am going to dress up, but I probably will most of the days,” Villarreal said.
The plan for the week was originally put together by sponsors of Student Council and National Junior Honor Society. Principal Rodney Strutton rolled out the plan to teachers and students earlier this week.
Luke McFatridge, an eighth-grade DMS student, said he plans to dress up on the different theme days. All of the days relate back to Christmas.
“I enjoy getting in the Christmas spirit,” McFatridge said.
He finds the dress-up days fun because he gets to wear things he doesn’t normally wear to school.
The dress-up days include:
Monday: Christmas Pajamas
Tuesday: Christmas T-Shirt
Wednesday:Christmas colors or buffalo check plaid
Thursday: Ugly Christmas sweater
Friday: Christmas accessories (Santa hats, socks, light necklaces, etc.)
