Only one day remains until Christmas Break, and students are getting excited.
Holiday cheer is spreading throughout Duncan Middle School, from the classrooms to the hallways. The break marks the end of the first semester or the halfway mark of the school year.
Many students will do many different things during the two week break. One of the things students are excited about is Christmas.
They hope to get all of the things they want. Others just plan to spend a lot of money on things they want instead of being surprised.
“My favorite Christmas tradition is when we get to open our presents,” eighth-grader Joselyn Vargas said.
Vargas said she also likes to hang out with her friends over the break.
Many students have different holiday traditions, and many of those traditions will be carried out during the break.
In addition to Christmas, students will also get to celebrate New Year’s Day during the break. On New Year’s Eve, people will stay up until midnight to celebrate the start of another year. Many students hope 2021 will be a better year than 2020 proved to be.
A lot of things will be different this year though.
Some students will not be able to see family members or are quarantined through the break.
But no matter how students are celebrating over the break, holiday cheer is sure to spread.
