Many people have some type of tradition they do for the holidays.
It might be them getting the same pajamas for their family or having a big family dinner on Christmas Eve. Others many be they put up Christmas decorations as a family and then after watch a family movie and drink hot cocoa.
And on New Years Eve students may go to their family’s house to have a big dinner and watch the ball drop.
But things with this pandemic may be a little more different then some of the past years. You may have to wear a mask or nobody is able to watch the ball drop live at all to decrease the chances of spreading COVID-19.
Three students were selected to talk about there holiday traditions and what there favorite part of there traditions are.
Kierney Holthaus, an eighth-grader, said, “We open presents and eat ham.”
For Emme Marks, family s a big part of the holiday time tradition.
“I go to my grandparents house,” Marks said.
Jocelyn Vargas said her family has a special tradition around Christmas.
“I party on Christmas Eve and open presents at midnight,” Vargas said.
The three students said the holiday traditions help instill Christmas spirit into this time of year. Marks said the traditions bring nostalgia for the holidays.
